Duchy was born and raised in Hampshire and is settled in Brixton, South London. Her musical influences are numerous and varied largely due to an exotic ethnic background comprising Jamaican, Cuban and Scottish.
From Kate Bush, David Bowie and Patrice Russian to the energetic British music scene such as Soul 2 Soul, Loose Ends, Strangers & Depeche Mode. Her vinyl & tape collection played a key role in Duchy's musical education, enhancing her flair as a versatile performer and song writer.

Duchy’s own tastes further developed with the explosion of the British dance scene. Her early recording projects that took influence and inspired others within the drum and bass community included Reaction, J-Majik and The Underwolves At a young age Duchy would light up tracks with a fusion of energy and melody.
